For every person who decides not to vote at all or those of us who take time to research each candidate, there are people who will blindly vote Republican every time and without question. I lived somewhere where folks assume they are making the correct choice because their church will assure them these good god-fearing politicians will uphold their values.
Aside from this abuse of community trust, there are also people who will shrug because, "well, at least he wants to protect life like every good Christian should!" even as he moves to weaken child labor laws, cut school funding, and squash public programs.
If you don't see voting as the act of rebellion it is, you have not seen how the system relies on using the ignorant and uninformed to justify their actions as "for the people."
